Career Profile
Professor and Researcher at the National University of San Luis (UNSL) and the National University of Southern Patagonia (UNPA), Argentina. He is the professor in charge of postgraduate courses at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), the National University of La Plata (UNLP), UNSL, UNPA, the Inter-American Open University (UAI), and the University of Azuay (Ecuador) on topics related to Artificial Intelligence (AI), Multi-Agent Systems (MAS), Machine Learning (ML), Text and Web Mining, and Natural Language Processing (NLP). With 30 years of experience as a researcher in AI areas such as ML, MAS, and NLP, he has actively participated with leading AI groups in Spain, Mexico, Germany, Austria, and Greece. He is the Director of the Laboratory for Research and Development in Computational Intelligence (LIDIC) and the Institute of Computational, Cognitive, Psychological, and Social Sciences (ICOPS) at UNSL. Currently, his research focuses on the early detection of at-risk individuals (depression, addictions, etc.) online. This research has resulted in some of the state-of-the-art systems for the early detection of depression, anorexia, and gambling addiction on the web. He has led several projects funded by the Sadosky Foundation in collaboration with companies and government agencies, involving the use of AI and NLP techniques in industry and government administrative processes.
